Hello. My name is Richard Pearce and I'm a photographer and teacher based in Coventry, UK.
Photography occupies an amazing place in our lives, ranging from the documentary and 'objective' recording of everyday events through to capturing the personal and more 'private' moments, as well as creating Fine Art, which often involves further computer work, moving into a new dimension beyond the original image as it was taken. Photography evokes strong emotions and powerful memories.
I enjoy a wide range of photography. I love the beauty and detail of the 'pictures' we can find in nature, but specialise mainly in people and events, with an emphasis on people. I have worked extensively with Looked After Children, Young Parents, families, children and adults with learning difficulties - including the Notables band - the elderly and young people in schools. I also enjoy music and love photographing musicians, from classical - such as the Bergonzi Quartet at the Rudolf Kempe Society in Stratford-upon-Avon - through to bands like Coventry heavy rock group General.
I teach photography at City College, Coventry, and through my own workshops. My own programme includes Wildlife and Nature Photo Days at Brandon Marsh, near Coventry, and courses in Solihull Arts Complex (Levels 1, 2 and 3) with the Light 52 photography group and Centre of England Arts . Others have included photography at Blossomfield Social Club, Solihull, Foundry Wood, in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, and various photography days.
When not crawling around with a camera, I also teach Teeline Shorthand on the Add+Vantage courses at Coventry University.
Other interests include music, walking and running.
